"To live would be an awfully big adventure"

- Peter Pan -

J.M. Barrie

Two things I've always had an affinity with - books, and illustrating. Ever since I was a very young child. My favourite books were Brer Rabbit,  The Magic Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair, Peter Pan, Brothers Grimm and even Dracula - full of magic, imagination, and the unknown.

And while I've spent many of my years in fear of being seen, hiding in the shadows battling intense mental health rollercoasters (oh yes, the real life stuff no one talks about), I'm now coming into my older years , accepting there is no limitations to my imagination. And I'd rather like to share it with you. Please enjoy

The First Book of Odd
(Preludes)

Author:        Sol Puppetman
Illustrations:  Kristy Mary (The Wandering Artist)
Cover Art:    Tom Quinert

Before a Land can be made, it must first be broken...

In the furthest, loneliest corner of a world, two godlings witness a storm that should not exist — a force amassing to unravel the fabric of creation itself. Meanwhile, in the rest of the Land, five very different stories are only just beginning:

A streetwise girl chasing adventure beyond her city walls. A sky-born child of dreams who must learn what endings mean. Two runaway brothers adrift in the swamps dark heart. A pair of under-mountain toilers caught up in the political machinations of forbidden magic.

And a fallen musician whose song might stir the ashes of creation itself.

Each carries a thread of the same story — one that binds gods and mortals, beauty and ruin, light and shadow in the slow un-making of the Land of Odd.
